If your only in New York for one whole day then I highly recommend Citysights except when it's as hot as the day we were there. Being an open top bus you are a piece of beef on a BBQ cooking very fast.
Also you need to watch out for the Traffic lights that hang from the center of each junction. I stood up to take a picture and nearly got knocked senseless.
New York wasn't anything I expected and everything I wanted. Great food, exceptionally nice people and fascinating sights but oh so hot until you get into the subway. Air conditioned subways are the way to go. Why the hell can't we have that in London?

I would recommend the "Circle Line Tour" around Manhattan on the water...especially on a hot day & obviously not in the rain, you will learn fascinating facts about transportation in & out of Manhattan & everything else there is to know about the island....
